A Mediation Effect of Depression between a Elderly’s Abuse Experience and Considering Suicide：A comparative study on people who live alone and those who live with family

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to analyse how depression and abuse experience influenced on elderly suicide. This study was conducted with 734 who were 65 years old. Structural equation model was used as a measurement. Results are as follows. Firstly, elderly``s abuse experience directly effected on considering suicide. Secondly, depression was proportional to considering suicide. Thirdly, depression mediated between an elderly``s abuse experience and considering suicide. Finally, an elderly``s abuse experience, depression and considering suicide was mediated each other. There was difference between a group of elderly who lived alone and group of elderly who lived with family.
